The economy directly impacts the charitable giving environment. After a tumultuous year, what will 2010 hold for us and our donors? Matt Ramer of Morgan Stanley will give us an economic overview for the year. He’ll connect that outlook to our work in philanthropy, providing tips on the best ways we can help our donors continue to support the causes that excite them.

Heather Gee, CFRE, CAP has been Vice President for Development and Donor Relations for The Philadelphia Foundation since 1999. Ms. Gee is responsible for managing the asset development activities of the $275 million community foundation. She has more than 25 years of experience in asset development in a variety of roles and non profit organizations. She now focuses her efforts on educating the advisor and donor communities about how to incorporate philanthropy and legacy planning into their practice as well as working with donors to help them understand their own personal passions and how they can make their money make a difference.

Yale Levey, CFP, CAP, founder and managing member of Next Generation Wealth Planning, LLC, is an often sought out financial educator, speaker and lecturer whom you may have seen interviewed on TV’s “Wall Street Journal Weekend” or read about in one of the two books he is featured in, “The Trust Equation, The Savvy Investor’s Guide To Selecting a Competent, Ethical Financial Advisor” or “Happily Ever After, Expert Advice For Achieving The Retirement Of Your Dreams”. A member of the Gift Planning Council of NJ, he serves on the board of The International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy.

Robert Wahlers, CFRE, Senior Director of Development and Gift Planning with Meridian Health Foundation, is a member of the board for the national Partnership for Philanthropic Planning. A past president of the New Jersey AFP chapter, Robert has helped raised more than $40 million over the last 10 years for two wonderful national organizations – the American Cancer Society and the Boy Scouts of America. With experience in the Financial Services sector, he continues to network and enjoy mutually beneficial relationships with professional advisors who share an interest in helping their clients who have the passion to be philanthropic.

Matthew Ramer is Second Vice President for Personal Wealth Management at Morgan Stanley in Philadelphia. In his practice, Matt maintains a commitment to helping clients reach their charitable as well as financial goals. He is involved with numerous charities himself, including the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and the Sam Fund for Young Cancer Survivors. A graduate of Brandeis University, Matt is a licensed pilot and a captain in the U.S. Air Force Auxiliary.
